When the Computer Made Art

‘When the Computer Made Art' was a group exhibition presented by ARTXCODE for the 2019 Contemporary and Digital Art Fair in Miami, FL. The show featured the works of Zach Bodtorf, Dmitri Cherniak, Manolo Gamboa Naon, David Mrugala, Helena Sarin and Ben Snell.

These artists employ a variety of contemporary coding techniques from Processing and WebGL to Generative Adversarial Networks. Investigating the underlying collaboration between computation and creativity, 'When the Computer Made Art' paradoxically asserts the idea that computer programming is an extension of the creative mind, not a replacement.
